The Division of General Pediatrics at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) provides comprehensive, high-quality care for children from birth up to 16 years of age, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of pediatric conditions.

Scope of Services

Inpatient Care

Our inpatient services provide specialized care for children requiring hospitalization, including:

  • Assessment, diagnosis, and management of common pediatric conditions.
  • Management of highly complex pediatric cases, coordinated with pediatric sub-specialties.
  • Care for patients referred to SKMC for advanced tertiary management, in collaboration with multidisciplinary pediatric teams.

Outpatient Care

Our outpatient services support ongoing pediatric care, follow-up, and specialized clinics, including:

  • Growth and developmental assessment, including failure to thrive and developmental delay.
  • Follow-up care for children after complex neonatal courses, including prematurity.
  • Ongoing management of:
    • Rare genetic disorders
    • Complex neurological conditions, including cerebral palsy
    • Post-congenital heart disease
  • Care for children who are technology-dependent, including those with tracheostomies or gastrostomy tubes

SKMC offers a 16-bed pediatric day care unit shared across pediatric specialties, providing:
