About Me

Shaheena Parveen Abdulla Haroon, a physiotherapist, is currently working in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi.
She has extensive experience in physiotherapy, with over 19 years of service at SKMC.
A Cardiac Physiotherapist with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings (Phase I to III), she is skilled in post-operative cardiac care in the UAE. She has expertise in managing patients following AVR, CABG, and congenital heart disease, utilizing structured exercise prescription and risk stratification. She is proficient in METs-based progression and ECG monitoring, with a strong emphasis on enhancing functional capacity, improving patient adherence, and achieving better clinical outcomes through evidence-based rehabilitation (AHA, AACVPR).

  • Perform detailed initial and follow-up assessments for cardiac rehabilitation
  • Design personalized exercise programs incorporating treadmill, cycle ergometer, and resistance training
  • Monitor ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, SpO₂, and patient symptoms during sessions
  • Advance patients using METs-based and symptom-guided protocols
  • Conduct patient education sessions to support long-term lifestyle modification
  • Participate in clinical training and provide feedback to students in cardiac rehabilitation settings
