I would like to introduce myself as a skilled Ophthalmologist providing examination, diagnosis, and treatment services to a wide variety of patients with 25 years of experience
I have been practicing in the United Arab Emirates for the last 11 years at a leading private hospital where I have developed a thriving Paediatric ophthalmology practice.
I have worked as a Senior Consultant at the world famous Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India for 8 years in the departments of Paediatric ophthalmology and the Department of Community Ophthalmology ,where I was a trainer for the Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship in cataract and microsurgery, a highly sought-after phacoemulsification training program.
I have also worked at the Takeo Eye Hospital in Cambodia which was under a program for an international Not for profit organisation, Christoffel Blinden Mission (CBM)
During my time spent in Takeo Eye Hospital, Takeo, Cambodia, I was involved in mentoring trainees who had completed the two-year Basic Eye Doctors (B.E.D) course at the base hospital and were now working in the government facilities by visiting them in Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Svey Reing provinces. I helped them in setting up an inventory, book keeping, indenting, maintaining records of surgical consumables, and other logistics management.
My experience of working in the field of community ophthalmology in Cambodia helped when I was an integral part of the Sankara Nethralaya team that conducted outreach programs in rural Tamil Nadu and also overseas in Zambia and Botswana.
During my employment at the Shimla Sanitarium, we organized and outreach to the town of Kaza Performed cataract surgery at the altitude of 11,980 feet.
I was deputed to serve at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Emirates Field Hospital during the Covid 19 Pandemic which was an adventure and a very fulfilling experience.
I am also a Clinical Director for Special Olympics and volunteer at events conducted by Special Olympics UAE
