About Me

Having completed his medical studies in Birmingham, United Kingdom, Dr Rizwan Rehman continued his Paediatric and Paediatric Cardiology training within the region.  Subspecialty training in congenital interventional cardiology was completed in Birmingham Children’s Hospital and supplemented with Interventional Fellowship Places at Institut Jantung Negara (Malaysia) and Okayama Hospital Japan).  After working as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Leicester UK, Dr Rehman was appointed as a Consultant at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi in December 2023.

During his training Dr Rehman presented at both local and international meetings winning oral presentation prizes at BCCA, Sankey clinical prize and AEPC best presentation.  He was awarded the UHL innovation prize in 2023 for his work on introducing the Preterm PDA closure programme to Leicester Hospital.  More recently he was awarded best presentation at the Emirates Cardiac Society meeting in 2024.  He is an active member in the international community and previous role included international representative for the PICES group (Paediatric Interventional Cardiology Early Career Society).
