Dr. Ken Kalevi Kontio is a highly experienced paediatric orthopaedic surgeon from Ottawa, Canada, with over 20 years of academic and surgical practice. Recognized for his expertise and contributions to medical education, he has been an award-winning educator in the field. His clinical practice covers all areas of paediatric orthopaedics, including trauma, limb deformities, and hip reconstruction, with special expertise in sports medicine and knee surgery.
Since arriving in the UAE in August 2021, Dr. Kontio has been serving as a Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi. He is also the Division Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at SKMC, where he continues to lead and develop paediatric orthopaedic services while providing advanced care for children with musculoskeletal conditions. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
