Shorouq AlMadani is a bilingual Speech and Language Therapist with over 12 years of experience delivering evidence-based care across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, outpatient clinics, and schools in the UAE and Jordan. She holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Jordan. She is licensed by the Department of Health (DOH – Abu Dhabi) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
Her clinical expertise lies in the assessment and management of neurological communication and swallowing disorders. She has worked extensively with patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and progressive neurological conditions, providing rehabilitation for aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, and dysphagia. She is also experienced in supporting complex swallowing cases through evidence-based therapeutic approaches and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Alongside her medical work, Shorouq has a strong background in paediatrics, particularly in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental language disorders, and speech sound difficulties. She integrates Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies and phonological awareness training to maximize functional communication and literacy outcomes , She also has strong expertise in preparing children for school readiness, working closely with teachers to design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and providing practical strategies that support inclusion, participation, and effective communication within the classroom.
Beyond therapy, she is passionate about professional development and inclusive education. She has led large-scale school projects to train teachers, inclusion specialists, and parents in communication strategies, developing toolkits and programs that make classrooms more accessible for children with special needs.
