Dr. Laila Ababneh is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with over 21 years of clinical and academic experience. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood eye diseases, including amblyopia, paediatric cataracts and strabismus in both children and adults. Dr. Ababneh completed her fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and strabismus at Goettingen University Hospital in Germany, following her higher specialty training at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
She previously served as the Head of the Ophthalmology Department at King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan and as an Associate Professor in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ababneh is passionate about delivering high quality, compassionate care to her young patients. She is an advocate for early vision screening, myopia control, and the prevention of visual impairment in children. She has published multiple research papers and regularly speaks at regional and international conferences. Currently, she is a Consultant Physician at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi, where she continues he mission to provide peadiatric eye care through clinical excellence, education and research.
