SEHA’s Tawam Hospital receives accreditation from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 20 February 2024 —Tawam Hospital – part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East, has received the institution accreditation certificate for medical education from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCI), a globally renowned professional association overseeing medical education of specialists.

In line with the vision of PureHealth and under the directives of SEHA, Tawam Hospital is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation in healthcare delivery. The accreditation involved an evaluation of Tawam Hospital’s educational programs, faculty qualifications, clinical facilities, and commitment to the advancement of medical knowledge, and is a recognition of the Hospital’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in medical education, and training processes. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada supports international standards in healthcare through professional development aimed at and creating sustainable healthcare systems.

Earlier in 2022, DoH signed an MoU with the RCI, a non-profit organisation that aims to promote and provide programmes and services of the college, which enabled trained doctors in the emirate to benefit from the new training programmes approved in Canada. Additionally, the MoU seeks to provide the opportunity for healthcare professionals in the emirate to enrol in fellowship programmes in Canada, and to benefit from the specialised educational and training opportunities offered by RCI.
